Automating Equipment Timesheets From Telematics Data  

Resource Commander is capable of retrieving location, activity and available maintenance information from most North American telematics (Vehicle GPS) providers. By integrating with telematics, Resource Commander can provide the highest level of automation for equipment tracking available. The process is straightforward:

  • Resource Commander receives location and activity information from wireless units installed on remote vehicles and equipment.
  • For each unit, GPS location is checked against job addresses from the accounting system. Based on activity rules defined by an administrator, fully costed operating and/or rental charges are automatically generated. Exceptions are presented for review, and handled in minutes.
  • Once approved, all of these records are then fed directly into the accounting system. Optionally, any maintenance information provided by the wireless unit can also be uploaded if the accounting system has an equipment maintenance module.

Resource Commander can also integrate with multiple telematics providers at once, allowing the data provided from each to be first aggregated and normalized, and then used to generate automated charges that are fed into an accounting system.
