Release Of Resource Commander 3.7 Improves Visibility Into Job Costs

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – BRANDON, FL – Construction companies can now track and approve comprehensive labor activity from the field to payroll applications. The tool for collecting information from the field and feeding it directly into back office systems is the construction software system Resource Commander. It is used to track employee and job activity directly at the source as it occurs. This allows a company to see what its employees are doing in real time via mobile time and attendance. It also eliminates the duplicate efforts of administrators manually entering the same information to payroll software.

The newest version of Resource Commander was recently completed by ACS Connect™. Resource Commander 3.7 has more detailed and user-friendly options for management to track, edit, and upload employee activity and costs to payroll. The software system is intuitive, so that completing managerial tasks is simpler and more efficient. This in turn enables a leaner administrative force to do large amounts of work.

The final release of version 3 contains several anticipated features, and provides a glimpse of the product’s direction. Top on the list of new features is the ability to review the current budget status for a single day of a single job. Budget details include complete labor costs‐to‐date, hours‐to‐date, and whether costs and hours are over or under budget. This information is relayed in real time, and is able to handle millions of jobs and cost codes.

Another new feature allows resource groups of employees or equipment to be created and assigned to multiple users. These resources are then assigned to work hours, jobs, and cost codes as a group. This permits management to cut down on time spent on payroll by viewing and approving the activity of entire resource groups. Again, the activity, once approved, is sent directly to the payroll software without eating into administrative time due to being reentered.

Lastly, the new WebCollect interface for mobile devices is designed to work on any standards-compliant mobile web browser. The list of mobile devices includes platforms like Blackberry, Android, Palm, the iPhone and Windows Mobile. WebCollect allows any level of Resource Commander user, whether administrative or field labor, to enter and view time entries. Due to RC’s ability to apply millions of jobs and cost codes, a user records his activity for each and every task down to the minute, while physically at the job site or on the road.

Due to the ease of use and integration of software between the field and the office, field staff and laborers can be confident that hours worked will be in the system, ready to be paid. Administrative staff can be equally confident that the resource activity they review and approve for payroll is directly from the source as a live feed.
